Internationally acclaimed pianist Neil Pearlman is this week’s guest performer at the Oasis of Music, from 12:30 to 1 p.m. at Lewiston’s Trinity Episcopal Church, Wednesday, May 3.  Pearlman has developed a unique approach over the years, using classical and jazz music training to help forge a very personal approach to the Scottish and Klezmer music traditions, with an improvisational flair brought to styles honed through the centuries.  He is a sought-after accompanist to fiddlers everywhere, having performed with Alasdair Fraser, Natalie MacMaster, Katie McNally, Mike Block, Alden Robinson, his father, Ed Pearlman, and sister, Lily Pearlman.  Pearlman’s interest in the great variety of approaches to traditional music by musicians of all generations and cultures has led him to create the podcast TradCafe,  where he interviews and jams with a special guest each week. Joining him on his last number Wednesday will be Greg Boardman, fiddle, and Hadith Bani Adam, cajon. The church is located at 247 Bates St. Admission is free.  FMI: Call 344-3106.
