SABATTUS — The Harry Conway Post 135 of Sabattus will be holding its first 5k fundraiser on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29. The Sabattus Legion Memorial 5k Run/Walk will begin and end at the Legion hall on Island Rd., off Main St., in Sabattus. Registration will only be held on race day, and will begin at 7 a.m. at the Post. The race will start at 8 a.m. All participants are invited to stay after the event for the annual Memorial Day parade.
There will be awards for the winners, and also raffles after the race. The cost is $20 for adults, and $15 for those 16 and under. Anyone wearing a photo or other memorabilia of a veteran, family member, friend, or loved one, will receive a $5 discount.
Proceeds will be used to support various Legion projects, including building upgrades and local student scholarships.
