LEWISTON — The Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project presented its annual Volunteer Awards recently.
The Business Partner of the Year was presented to Androscoggin Bank of Lewiston and accepted by the bank’s president, Paul Andersen. Androscoggin Bank hosted a business round table to further ILAP’s understanding of the business community in 2016, and was pivotal in supporting and helping ILAP leverage that support for a new attorney position placed there last August to aid asylum-seekers.
The Community Partner of the Year was presented to Trinity Jubilee Center, also in Lewiston. This organization has been a pivotal collaborator by providing immigration resources to clients in Lewiston, including forms assistance and connecting people with services at ILAP.
