ROXBURY — Arthur E. Patrie, 79, of Canwell Hill Road in Roxbury passed away Tuesday, May 9, at his residence, surrounded by loving family.

He was born in Rumford on June 4, 1937, a son to Arthur J. and Aline (Hebert) Patrie. Arthur proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy on the USS Valley Forge. He was employed for 42 years with the Rumford paper mill and was a member of their 25- and 40-year clubs. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Elks Club.

Arthur loved his family and they took many cruises to Alaska, the Bahamas, the Panama Canal, Hawaii and Australia. He also loved hunting, fishing, bowling, tennis, golf, and watching the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.

Surviving are his children, Naomi Patrie and her wife, Donna, of Roxbury, Douglas K. Patrie of Rumford, and Lisa C. Patrie of Mexico; a sister, Pauline Renfroe and husband, Wayne, of Sidney; a brother, Gerard Patrie, and his wife, Fern, of Worthley Pond; a grandson, Joshua Patrie, and wife, Kathleen; two great-grandchildren, Carrick Patrie and Acacia Patrie; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Mary; and a daughter, Michelle A. Patrie.
