PARIS — The Oxford County commissioners voted Wednesday afternoon to accept the resignation of Cpl. Josh Wyman from the Sheriff’s Office.
County Administrator Scott Cole said Wyman cited “personal reasons” for the resignation.
“That’s all he gave us: that he was resigning for personal reasons,” Cole said.
Earlier this year, Wyman was placed on paid administrative leave. Sheriff Wayne Gallant declined to comment on the reason.
A spokesman for the Teamsters union, which represents the deputies, confirmed that Wyman had been placed on leave several weeks ago but also declined to comment on the reason.
Gallant told commissioners Wednesday he had promoted Deputy Richard Murray to corporal and had hired Mexico police officer Caroline Casey as a full-time deputy.
Cole said commissioners also voted to authorize hiring Renee Shanks as a full-time corrections officer.
