TURNER — The name of Turner Memorial Post 111 of the American Legion will be changed to the Philip S. Bryant Memorial Post 111 in a ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at the Turner Public Library.

The organization will be presented with a new charter by Maine State American Legion Commander Peter Johnson and State Adjutant Paul L’Heureux.

Turner Post members voted to change the name in honor of Philip Bryant, the only Turner resident killed in Vietnam.

American Legion family members, the town manager, selectmen and the public are invited to attend.
