LEWISTON — Maine Event Comedy’s Third Thursday Comedy Showcase returns to Bear Bones Beer on May 18 at 7 p.m. with reigning “Central Maine’s Funniest Comedian” winner Billy Jack Goodwin. He’ll be joined by fellow comics John Sucich, Jake Jacobson, Joel Klein, Crystal Bernard and host Mark Turcotte.

Goodwin is quickly making a name for himself in the Maine scene. Along with taking the cash and hardware against 11 competitors in the Central Maine contest, he won the Portland Comedy Festival’s Best Amateur Comic title.

Jacobson has seen the world and he’s not impressed. Born in Massachusetts, raised in Rhode Island, and enlightened in Africa, he now resides in Western Maine and writes intellectual-social-observational irreverence to be delivered wherever some good ol’ common sense is required.

Sucich is a Boston-area comedian who has performed throughout New England, in New York City and in the 2016 Cleveland Comedy Festival. Audiences love his unique take on life as a husband and father of three girls.

The show is free and for ages 21-and-older. Bear Bones Beer is located at 43 Lisbon St. FMI call 207-513-0742 or e-mail maineeventcomedy@gmail.com.
