WAYNE — Steven Woodsum, U.S. Navy veteran, will be the guest speaker at this year’s Memorial Day service on Monday, May 29.

The Memorial Day Committee is working with the 3rd Maine and the Maranacook High School and Middle School bands to create an appropriate reflection and observance.

A schedule of events is as follows:

• 10:30 a.m. — Veterans, boys, girls, Scouts and anyone with a focus on honoring  veterans should assemble at the Wayne Community Church’s parking lot.

• 11 a.m. — The different groups will leave the parking lot and go down Main Street to Pond Road and back to the Veterans Memorial Stone on Pocasset Lake where a wreath-laying ceremony will take place. Then the parade will move to the Veterans Memorial Park where the formal program will continue. If it rains, services will be at the Ladd Center at 11 a.m.

• Noon to 2 p.m. — A Salute to Wayne Veterans Exhibit at the Williams House, 14 Old Winthrop Road, across from the library.
