FARMINGTON — Winston and Joey are the Pets of the Week at the Franklin County Animal Shelter.
The Dog of the Week is Winston, a 7-year-old or older, DNA-tested Boxer mix. He is a laid-back, gentle giant with excellent leash manners and knowledge of basic commands. Although he is an older dog, he is very playful, yet listens when playtime is over. He will need a home with lots of room to run, but will require a home without cats or small children. Winston’s adoption fee is $150.
The Cat of the Week is Joey. His grumpy countenance doesn’t show his personality. Joey is affectionate and snuggly. He is 4 to 6 years old and is looking for a fur-ever lap to cuddle.
Winston, Joey and other pets may be visited at the shelter from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays, at 550 Industry Road. Cats and dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption and have been vaccinated for rabies, treated for fleas, microchipped and have had nail trims. The shelter also rehomes barn cats, livestock and other pets.
