POLAND — Brady Downing gave up two hits and helped his own cause with two hits and two RBIs as Poland rolled to a 5-2 late-season baseball win over Fryeburg on Thursday.

Jake Wiseman also contributed for the Knights (4-11) with two hits in the contest.

The Raiders (3-11) were led by Keith Jones with an RBI double, while Brad Bartlett suffered the loss.

Dirigo 14, Oak Hill 2

WALES — Mason Corriveau belted out three hits and drove in five runs as Dirigo overpowered Oak Hill 14-2 in more late-season baseball action Thursday.

Luke Lueders chipped in for the Cougars (7-7) with three hits and three RBIs, while Tucker Olsen and Bryce Whittemore each had two hits in a well-rounded effort.

Adam Moody led the Raiders (4-10) with an RBI double. Lueders earned the mound win, gaving up just three hits in the first four frames.

Lacrosse

Oak Hill 16, Lawrence 5

WALES — Steve Gilbert netted eight goals on Thursday to propel Oak Hill to a 16-5 late-season lacrosse rout over Lawrence.

Marcus Bailey chipped in for the Raiders with two goals, while Noah Moring, Lee Mower, Gabe Bergeron, Cole Beaule, Ethank Ivy and Matt Eaton also tallied to complete the scoring.

Gunner McAllister led the Bulldogs with a hat trick, while Nick Denis and Logan Fortin each scored a goal. Nate Marcotte made 16 saves for Oak Hill.

Edward Little 20, Oxford Hills 0

PARIS — Ganan Mancini netted eight goals and dished off four assists to lead Edward Little to a 20-0 romp over Oxford Hills in a boys’ lacrosse tilt Thursday.

Spencer Frahn chipped in for the Red Eddies (6-5) with three goals, while Tyler Morin, Eli McBride, Ben Feldman and Cam Audette all scored twice. Reed Chapman also tallied to complete the scoring.

Dakota Bousquet made nine saves to preserve the shutout, while Nate Plourde turned aside 15 shots for the Vikings (0-11).

Softball

Fryeburg 4, Poland 3

POLAND — Mackenzie Buzzell’s solo home run in the seventh inning gave Fryeburg a 4-3 win over Poland in a late-season softball tilt on Thursday.

Buzzell led the Raiders (10-3) with three hits and two RBIs, while starting pitcher Nicole Bennett helped her cause with a solo shot in the sixth. Bennett scattered six hits while earning the win.

Sarah Walton led the Knights (6-9) with a pair of hits, while Karley O’Leary suffered the loss.
