OTISFIELD – The Board of Selectmen will meet with Tice Waste Management on Wednesday, June 7, to discuss the town’s future recycling options.

The board meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Town Office.

Last month, selectmen learned that after July 1, Oxford County Regional Recycling Corp. will not make pickups in Otisfield.

Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments representative Becky Secrest met with selectmen April 5, along with Karen McNaughton, a municipal sales representative with Pine Tree Waste, to discuss future recycling options for Otisfield.

Chairman Hal Ferguson said at the meeting that Otisfield uses Casco Bulky Waste to get rid of bigger items, such as lamps, televisions, metals, tires, and shingles, while solid/household waste is hauled to an Auburn incinerator by Pine Tree Waste.

Selectman Rick Micklon said selectmen want to come up with two or three simple and inexpensive options to bring to residents.
