FARMINGTON — Bruce Mochamer, the principal of Mt. Blue High School and coordinator of Mt. Blue Campus, has submitted a letter of resignation, Superintendent Tom Ward confirmed Wednesday.

“Unfortunately, Bruce has submitted his letter,” Ward said in a reply to an email inquiry. “The (school) Board has been informed. He has told staff and students.”

Mochamer has 32 years combined experience as a teacher, assistant principal and principal.

“We begged him to stay,” Ward said. “He does not have another job; he just needs a change. Administrative positions are very difficult — they wear you down. He will stay on until we find another principal.”
During Mochamer’s career, he taught science for 12 years at Mt. Blue Middle School before he went on to teach science at Skowhegan Area Middle School. He spent 14 years at that school, including as assistant principal and principal.
He became assistant principal of Mt. Blue High School on July 1, 2013, and then was named interim principal in June 2014 when then Principal Monique Poulin became principal of Skowhegan Area High School.
Mochamer became principal of Mt. Blue High School and coordinator of Mt. Blue Campus on July 1, 2015.
