WILTON — A Kineowatha- PEP Fun Day takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, June 19, at the park on High Street.

The Healthy Community Coalition of Greater Franklin County has planned some special events to take place while Wilton Recreation Department accepts sign ups for summer lessons and programs.

A timed hula hoop contest starts at 10:30 and runs till 2 p.m. Someone will win a hula hoop. The contest is offered by grade levels, K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. Participants can stop by the HCC table, located outside the main lodge, and staff will time how long they hula hoop. Youngsters can try as many times as they like. 

A fat tire bike demo takes place from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. People can try out mountain bikes and fat tire bikes.

Disc Golf is available from 11:30 to 12:30 Monday. More instructions offered at the lodge.

Paddle board and kayak demos and mini lessons are planned from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

Healthy food demos and samples will also be provided.

Meanwhile, sign ups for Wilton Recreation summer activities and camps takes place on Monday and Tuesday, June 19 and 20.

Swimming Lessons for ages 3 and up will be offered for 30 minute classes Monday through Thursday, June 21 through August 3.

Tennis Lessons for ages 11 to 15 are offered 8:30-9:30 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from July 3-14 and again from July 17-28.

Tennis Lessons for ages 6 to 10 are offered 9:45 to 10:45, Monday, Wednesday and Friday July 3-14 and again from July 17-28.

Fit Girls for those entering grades 4-6 is offered Monday through Friday, 9 to 11:30 a.m., July 17 to July 21. To sign up, call 645-9648.

Field Hockey for students entering grades 2-6 is offered from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, July 24 to July 27.

Challenger Soccer Camp, grades 1-8, offered 9 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday, July 10-14. 

Challenger Soccer Camp, ages 3 to 5, offered 8 to 9 a.m. Monday through Friday from July 10-14.

Boys Basketball for students entering grades 3-8; 9 to 11 a.m. Monday through Thursday, July 24-27.

Girls Basketball for students entering grades 3-8; 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, July 24-27.

Co-Ed Summer Soccer for students entering grades 1-6; 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, August 14-17.

Spirit Camp for ages 5 to 10, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, July 17-21.
