PORTLAND — The Boston Red Sox promoted Sea Dogs infielder/outfielder Tzu-Wei Lin to their active roster Saturday. Lin, who was added to Boston’s 40-man roster and will wear No. 73, becomes the ninth Sea Dog to make the jump to Boston from Double-A.

Lin hit .302 (48-for-159) with a career-high five homers and 19 RBIs in 48 games with the Sea Dogs. During his past three games, Ling went 8-for-13 (.615), hitting a homer and two triples and driving in two runs. He also recored the first five-hit game of his career Wednesday against Erie.

The Taiwanese native reached base safely in 24 consecutive games from April 10-24, and had a team-high 15-game hitting streak from April 10-May 3, going 21-for-55 (.396) during that stretch. Entering 2017, Lin had only six career homers in 1,568 at-bats.

The Boston Red Sox signed Lin as an international free agent on June 16, 2012. In 2010, he won tournament MVP (hitting .607 in seven games) for Taiwan at the World Junior Championship. Following the 2012 season, he was rated by Baseball America as the fastest base runner in the Gulf Coast League.

The previous eight players to go from Portland to Boston are Andrew Benintendi and Yoan Moncada (2016), Jackie Bradley Jr. (2013), Josh Reddick (2009), Justin Masterson (2008), David Pauley (2006), Hanley Ramirez (2005) and Abe Alvarez (2004).

PORTLAND (AP) — Raudy Read hit a two-run homer in the ninth inning, leading the Harrisburg Senators to a 6-5 win over the Portland Sea Dogs on Saturday.

Read’s homer scored Alec Keller.

Ryan Brinley (4-4) got the win in relief, while Portland’s Taylor Grover (1-3) took the loss in the Eastern League game. Andrew Robinson retired the side in order for his second save of the season.

Henry Urrutia doubled twice and scored two runs for the Sea Dogs.
