Happy Birthday America Story Time

AUBURN — The Wallace family will present the annual “Happy Birthday America Story Time” with cake and a parade, at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 1, at the Auburn Public Library, 49 Spring St.

Children and their families will listen to stories, create a holiday themed craft, have a parade in the library and celebrate America’s birthday with cake. All are welcome.

Sparks Ark at Callahan Hall

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Public Library Children’s Department will welcome Spark’s Ark, the Animal Experts, to Callahan Hall at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 1.

David Sparks grew up around Sebago Lake, observing animals in their natural habitats. The Sparks family has been rehabilitating animals for 30 years.

Auburn Church collecting hygiene products 

AUBURN — The Auburn United Methodist Church is supporting the Center for Wisdom’s Women by helping supply hygiene products for the women that they serve.

Requested donations include shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, body wash, disposable razors, lotion, lip balm and feminine hygiene products.  

Donations can be dropped off at 439 Park Ave.

Bridge club lists winners

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners on June 19 were, first/second tie, Dick Allen and Richard Balian with Paul Clement and Roger Labbe; third, Norma and Rick Verrill; and, fourth, Nancy Lindgren and Rosemarie Goodwin.

Winners on June 20 were, first, Nancy Farmer and Misha Tomic; second, Pat Quinn and Roger Labbe; third, Jeanine Kivus and Fred Letourneau; and, fourth and first in B, Cindy and Bob Kirchherr.

Games are played at 9 a.m. Mondays and Tuesdays in the Seniors’ Room at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. A partner is always guaranteed and all bridge players are welcomed.
