Team raising funds for Malawian girls

NORWAY — Team Go!Malawi is fundraising for scholarships for rural Malawian girls so they may attend secondary school and college.

To do so, the team will host the Female Empowerment Hiking Weekend with hikes up Mt. Washington and Mt. Mondadnock, where hikers will pledge money to pay for tuition and books for girls in rural Malawi who are not able to go to school.

An informational session will be held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, July 6, at Cafe Nomad.

Swinging’ Bears ice cream social dance

PARIS —The Swingin’ Bears Square Dance Club of Norway-South Paris will have its annual Ice Cream Social dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 8, at the Oxford Hills Middle School, 100 Pine St.

Ray Hilton will be the caller and Carol Arsenault will be the cuer for this Mainstream and Plus dance. The dress will be casual.

Those attending can make their own sundaes. There will be door prizes and a 50/50 drawing. Admission is $7 per person. Non dancers may attend at no charge.

Clearwater Lake Association annual meeting

INDUSTRY — The Clearwater Lake Association will hold its annual meeting on Sunday, July 9, at the Industry Town Hall.

The potluck dinner will begin at noon, and the meeting will follow. Those attending should bring a dinner dish to share with the members. Beverages of will be provided.

Summer Camp in Strong

STRONG — Summer Camp in the Park will take place at Lance Corporal Scott Paul Memorial Town Park Monday to Friday, July 10 to 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

Children ages 4 to 13 are eligible to participate. The cost is $70 per child.

The price includes a camp t-shirt, daily drinks, and a Friday barbecue. Breakfast and lunch are provided each day except Thursday.

There will be sports, games, crafts, fishing, insects, gardening, water fun, and the popular animal day. Thursday will include a trip to Madison Water Park.

Any profit goes back into the park for future family fun.

Senior center resumes bingo play

PERU — The Senior Center at the Peru Community Center has resumed the Nickel Bingo schedule at 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
