PORTLAND — Jacqueline Drapeau, 68, of Turner, passed away at Maine Medical Center in Portland on Sunday, July 9, following a sudden illness.

She was born in Lewiston on March 11, 1949, a daughter of the late Laureat and Aline (Auger) Comeau. She lived in the Lewiston-Auburn area her entire life, attending local schools and graduating from Edward Little High School in the Class of 1967. In her younger years, she worked at Bonan Shoe for over 20 years as a fancy stitcher. In April 2009, Jacqueline married Reginald Drapeau and together they lived happily at The Turner Highlands Development. She was an avid golfer and a member of The WMSGA. She enjoyed golfing throughout the state and was a member at Turner Highlands Golf Course.

Jacqueline was a great seamstress who loved making her own clothes. She was a very patriotic woman who had a great love for her country and wasn’t afraid to express it. She also had a strong faith in God which always sustained her in difficult times. She enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her husband in Florida and precious time with her children and grandchildren.

Jacqueline is survived by her husband, Reginald Drapeau; three children, Andre Maurice Bussiere and wife, Kristine Chicoine, of Minot, Rebecca Jeanne Tower and spouse, David, of Chesapeake, Va., and Dalia Catherine Robertson and spouse, James, of Auburn; five grandchildren, Morgan, Mason, Zachary, Ozzie and Owen; three sisters, Lucille Longley, Madelaine Comeau and Claudette Werner; six brothers, Edward, Paul, Donald, Maurice, Normand and Richard Comeau; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Jacqueline was predeceased by a sister, Jeanne Comeau; and a brother, Marc Comeau.
