WATERVILLE — The Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War 1861-1865, Department of Maine, held a convention on June 23 at the Hampton Inn.

It began with a granddaughters’ breakfast. Past National President Gail Butterfield was recognized, and she brought greetings from President Jan Ryerson. New officers were installed by Butterfield, and there was a memorial service for deceased members. Department President Vicky Myers called for all tent reports to be read and passed in.

The time and place for 2018 convention will be announced at a later date.
