RAYMOND — A Limington man riding an unregistered dirt bike collided with a pickup truck on Route 302 in Raymond on Thursday.
Joshua Levesque, 21, sustained a severely broken leg and other injuries when he was thrown from his dirt bike, landing on the windshield of the truck driven by Stephen Anderson of Casco.
A Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department news release Thursday said Levesque crashed his 2002 Honda into the front passenger fender of Anderson’s truck at about 6:30 p.m. while riding along the sidewalk. Anderson was making a right turn into the Raymond Shopping Plaza.
According to the release, Levesque had “an obvious broken leg with bone protruding through the skin.” Levesque was not wearing a helmet.
He was taken by Raymond Rescue to Maine Medical Center. According to the report, several witnesses came forward to say that Levesque was traveling at high speed on the sidewalk. He will face several charges including driving to endanger, according to the release.
Anderson was not injured.
