WATERFORD — The next Waterford Summer Breakfast will be held from 7:30 to 10 a.m Wednesday, Aug. 2, at the Wilkins Community House at the foot of Plummer Hill Road next to the Waterford Congregational Church.
The next breakfast will be Wednesday, Aug. 16.
While the breakfasts are happening on the main floor, the cool basement of the Wilkins House will be the site of an indoor yard sale from 7:30 to 11 a.m. on each of the breakfast dates.
Volunteers are needed to work during the breakfast. Those interested should contact 207-583-7357.
Proceeds from the summer breakfasts help with the upkeep of the Wilkins Community House. Income from the yard sales goes to the maintenance funds for the Wilkins Community House and the Waterford Congregational Church.
Cost: $8 for adults; $4 for children ages 5 to 10; free for children younger than 5.

RUMFORD — Spaghetti, meatballs and homemade pie will be on the menu at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, at the Sons of Italy Lodge, Route 108.

RUMFORD — Rumford Grange will hold a barbecued chicken summer dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, on Route 2.

STRONG — The Porter Lake Association will hold its annual public bean supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at Strong Beach on Porter Lake.
In case of rain, it will be held at the Forster Building in Strong.
Strong Beach can be reached from Route 234 (connecting New Vineyard and Strong) turning onto Pond Road and then right again onto Beanies Beach Road.
The dinner supports activities beneficial to the lake, its users, and the lake environment.

SUMNER — The Congregational Church of East Sumner will serve a pulled pork community supper at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at 50 Main St., Route 219.
