ALFRED — MES Foundation has announced winners of the Richard H. Pierce Memorial Scholarship and the MES Foundation Scholarship, totaling $60,000 in awards to 12 Maine students.
The Pierce scholarship provided 10 Maine high school graduates $5,000 toward their 2017-2018 post-secondary education. Established in honor of MES founder Dick Pierce, who died in 2011, the scholarship is awarded based on distinguished academic merit and financial need. It is renewable for up to four years.
The MES board of directors also selected two Maine graduates to receive the foundation scholarship of $5,000, renewable for up to two years.
Beginning in January 2018, scholarship applications for the 2018-2019 academic year will be available online at www.mesfoundation.org.
