Soap-making at LPL

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Public Library is sending Summer Reading off with a soap-making program for teens and adults 13 and older from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, in the library’s makerspace, 200 Lisbon St.

Participants will learn to make soap with simple ingredients available from any craft store. Using a variety scents and colors, attendees can customize their own glycerin loofah soap to take home.

The workshop is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

Lewiston Farmers Market open Sundays 

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Farmers Market at Bates Mill is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays through mid-October at the municipal parking lot at Lincoln and Main streets.

Customers can purchase goods using cash, credit, debit, SNAP and WIC. Loyal customers will have the opportunity to receive a gift certificate after five visits to the market with the Market Rewards Program. Seniors 62 and older will receive a gift certificate to the market on the first Sunday of the month with the Seniors Day program.
