Sponsored by the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society, Alley Cats of LA is a public group open to all individuals concerned about feral cats in need of assistance in the community.

Special emphasis is placed upon a coordinated Trap-Neuter-Return Program, aimed at reducing the feral cat population. The goal is to improve the quality of life for the homeless cats, while reducing their numbers by attrition.

After the cats are sterilized and vaccinated, volunteer caretakers continue to feed the population, but the cats are no longer able to reproduce. In addition to saving lives, nuisance behaviors and citizen complaints will be reduced or eliminated and costs to municipalities decrease.

The shelter is located at 55 Strawberry Ave.
