MECHANIC FALLS – Mildred Helen Durgin, 73, of Mechanic Falls died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Aug. 16, surrounded by loving family.
She was born April 30, 1944, daughter of Lillian Lydia Winslow and Ralph Winslow. She was a 1962 graduate and salutatorian of Mechanic Falls High School. She married her loving husband, Gary, on Sept. 4, 1965, upon his return from Vietnam. She held positions in bookkeeping, real estate and vice president during her work career. She also operated her own business, Wood Etc., in Maine.
Milli was an avid gardener and her flower gardens were often the talk of many. Her Christian values extended to the many she and her husband, Gary, over their 53 years together reached out to help.
Milli leaves behind her loving husband of almost 53 years; her daughter Tanya Underwood; her son-in-law, John Underwood; granddaughter, Kaitlynn Underwood; her brother; and many nieces, nephews and loving friends of the family.
She was predeceased by her parents and one brother.
