I write this in response to honorable Mayor Robert Macdonald of Lewiston (letter, Aug. 13). Thanks, but no thanks. I have been asked by citizens of all wards to run for City Council. I do not want to be a politician in a city that, for the most part, ignores the taxpayers. We are being forced to pay for things we don’t need, or want.
I am sure Macdonald will be relieved to be able to resume his life after the election. I know we don’t see eye to eye but, all differences aside, I thank him for his service.
Bob Pelletier, Lewiston
