AVON — A Strong man died after his pickup truck struck a tree and caught fire on Mile Square Road on Sunday evening, Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Department of Public Safety wrote in a release.
Jason Flagg, 41, died at the scene, he wrote.
The accident occurred just after 6 p.m.
State Police “cited speed as the likely cause,” McCausland wrote.
It was the fourth highway death of the weekend in Maine.
On Friday night, a man died when his pickup overturned in Lebanon, and a man was killed in Searsmont in a two vehicle crash on Route 3, according to the release. On Saturday night, a motorcyclist died in a crash in Hollis.
