AUBURN — Kenneth Fitzherbert Sr., 80, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, Aug. 22, at the Hospice House in Auburn.
Ken was known for his mischievous personality, sense of humor and his award-winning smile that he shared and blessed us with right through his last days. He was also referred to by his many caregivers as “the cute, naughty one.”
Our family gives a big heartfelt thank you to the many caregivers who took care of dad over the last few years. You all made a difference and we can’t thank you enough. A special thank you goes to the Androscoggin Hospice team and the caregivers at the Hospice House. You didn’t only care for dad, you gave great care to our family as well. I don’t know what we would have done without you all.
Ken is survived by his loving wife, Betty, of 54 years; his children, Rick, Ken Jr. and Diane; his grandchildren, Tanya, Toni, Cara, Kristina, Lindsey, Andrew, Luke and Sierra; his great-grandchildren, Hakan, Aiyana, Gavin, Mason, Jace, Elena, Carson, Chloe and Jackson.
He is predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Dorothy Fitzherbert; and his daughter Tammy.
Ken was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Pathway Vineyard on Foss Rd. in Lewiston on Friday, Sept. 1, at 6 p.m. Well wishes and sympathies can be mailed to Betty Fitzherbert, 23 Spofford St., Apt. 141, Lewiston, ME 04240.
