LEWISTON — Emile Henault, 96, of Lewiston passed away Monday, Aug. 28, 2017 at Montello Manor in Lewiston, with his loving family by his side.
He was born in St. Hermenegilde, P.Q., Canada on Jan. 21, 1921, a son of the late Joseph and Marie (Pelletier) Henault. He grew up in the Coaticook, Quebec area and attended local schools there.
On Aug. 25, 1945 he married Lucille McDuff and they started a family together. The family moved to the United States in November of 1959. For most of his life, Emile worked as a carpenter for various companies such as Laliberte Bros., Belgarde Custom Kitchen and Hebert Construction. He retired in 1983.
Emile was a member of both the Holy Cross Seniors and the St. Peter and Paul Society. He will be sadly missed by many.
He is survived by his four children, Helene Veilleux of Goffstown, N.H., Ginette Morin and her husband, Robert of Clemont, Fla., Gabrielle Maheux and her husband, Paul of Lewiston and Gerard Henault and his wife, Linda of Lisbon. He also leaves behind a brother, Rosaire Henault; four sisters, Monique Laperle, Noellie Henault, Rita Tremblay, and Raymonde Fontaine and her husband, Jules, all of Canada; as well as eight grandchildren, Michael Morin, Tom Morin, Steven Maheux, Susan Keefe, Anne-Marie Maheux, Sarah Henault, Valerie Henault and Carla Henault; 14 great-grandchildren, Lucie, Elizabeth, Alexander, Claire and Joshua Morin, Troy and Cadence Maheux, Jacob and Nathan Keefe, Dominic, Cameron and Zak Byron and Vivian and Avelleen Lautz.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 69 years, Lucille Henault; his son, Andre; his two sisters, Therese Boutin and Denise St. Laurent; his brother, Yvon; five brothers-in-law, Albert Laperle, Marc Verronneau, George St. Laurent, Wilfrid Tremblay and Paul Boutin; and a sister-in-law, Jacqueline Henault.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff members of both Montello Commons and Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice for the compassionate care they showed Emile during his time with them.
