LEWISTON — Viola D. Gorneault, 88, of Lewiston, passed away on Saturday August 26, 2017 at the Marshwood Health Center in Lewiston with her family by her side. She was born September 20, 1928 in Frenchville, Maine, a daughter of the late Alfred and Cecile (Deschaine) Gorneault. She resided in Connecticut for several years where she worked in a department store. In the mid 60s she retired and moved to Lewiston, Maine, where she resided on Lincoln St. and was a member of St. Mary’s Parish. She joined the Pastime Club and 20M Club where she made lifelong friends. She loved to go to Thomas Point Beach every weekend, rain or shine with family. In her later years, she enjoyed camping at Tacoma Lakes, playing cards and enjoying family reunions every summer.

Viola is survived by her sisters, Sylvia, Edwina, Yvette and Lorette; brothers, Armand, Reggie and Lionel Gorneault; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brothers, Richard, Reno, Vincent and Donald Gorneault; sisters, Arlene Beland and Emelia Thornton; 2 half-sisters and 2 half-brothers.
