FALMOUTH — Mary Eva Welenteichick, 89, of Poland died Wednesday, Aug. 30, at Sedgewood Commons in Falmouth.
She was born in Matagorda, Texas, Sept. 16, 1927, the daughter of Hugh M. and Nona E. Murdoch Gilmore. She received an associate degree in business in Houston, Texas. On Jan. 13, 1951, she married Eugene A. Welenteichick, and after marrying she was a devoted mother and housewife.
She traveled to Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Spain, Italy, Germany and Portugal with her husband who was an officer in the U.S. Air Force. Mary Eva was a member of the Eastern Star, Beaucheants and American Legion Ladies Auxillary Post 150 in Mechanic Falls. She had made her home in Poland for 30 years coming from Howland and Portsmouth, N.H.
She is survived by her son, Eugene A. Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Poland; her granddaughter, Lindsey Morin and her husband, Eric; and her great-granddaughter, Gwen Morin.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gene, who died April 19, 2011.
