LEWISTON — Central Maine Medical Center will offer a free Pre-Diabetes Lifestyle Change Program from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. starting Thursday, Sept. 21.

The PreventT2 curriculum, approved for the CDC-led National Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP), features multiple sessions over 12 months, covering healthy, long-term changes to prevent or delay type 2 diabetes. Any adults with a pre-diabetes diagnosis or at high risk for pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes are welcome to join the program.

Participants meet in a small group led by a trained lifestyle coach. The program begins with weekly one-hour meetings for eight weeks. After the initial meetings, the group will meet biweekly for eight sessions and end with monthly meetings for six months as participants move toward a lifetime of healthy living.

The Sept. 21 session will provide information, followed by Session 1 on Thursday, Sept. 28, at Central Maine Medical Center, 60 High St.
