DIXFIELD — Jack Gilbert led a group of four players to record goals Thursday as Spruce Mountain rolled to a 4-2 win over Dirigo in a midseason boys’ soccer tilt.
Brady Walp, Cameron Cain and Mason Shink also tallied for the Phoenix (1-5) to complete the scoring. Jeremy St. Germain and Jonah Downs each scored a goal for the winless Cougars (0-6).
Andrew Shaw made seven saves for Spruce Mountain, while Wes Libby and Derek Ducharme combined to deflect 13 shots for Dirigo.
Mountain Valley 5, Winthrop 0
RUMFORD — Jacob Sinclair netted a pair of goals Thursday to lead Mountain Valley to a 5-0 boys’ soccer rout over Winthrop.
Espen Lamberg, Mo Wehrheim and Cam Gallant also tallied for the Falcons (4-1-2).
Jacob Rainey needed only three saves to record the shutout, while Lukas Grube turned aside 13 shots between the posts for Winthrop (1-4-1).
Mt. Abram 2, Oak Hill 0
WALES — A single goal in each half was more than adequate Thursday for Mt. Abram to record a 2-0 boys’ midseason soccer victory over Oak Hill.
Freshman Kenyon Pillsbury put the Roadrunners on the board in the first frame with an assist from Denny Marble. Tyson Hill added another late in the second half.
Jack Deming and Nate Luce combined to make one save for Mt. Abram, while Adam Lapoint turned aside 12 shots for the Raiders.
Carrabec 3, Telstar 1
BETHEL — Calvin Weegler netted a hat trick Thursday as Carrabec hustled to a 3-1 boys’ soccer victory over Telstar.
The Cobras put all three goals on the board before the break and easily hung on to prevail. Tristen Lilly scored the Rebels’ lone goal with an assist from Zach Hill.
Bradley Clark made seven saves for Carrabec, while Boston Ludden deflected 14 shots between the posts for Telstar.
Field hockey
Oxford Hills 4, Lewiston 0
LEWISTON — Jessica Bickford netted a pair of goals Thursday to propel Oxford Hills to a 4-0 midseason field hockey victory over Lewiston.
Megan Godbout and Brooke Carson also tallied for the Vikings to complete the scoring.
Kaisa Heikkinen, Maddy Day and Jenna Moxcey combined to make six saves for Oxford Hills, while Cici Landry turned aside seven shots for the Blue Devils.
Girls’ soccer
Leavitt 3, Gardiner 0
TURNER — Ali Noniewicz led a trio of players to record goals Thursday as Leavitt cruised to a 3-0 midseason girls’ soccer victory over Gardiner.
Leah Maheux and Ally Ryan also tallied for the Hornets to complete the scoring.
Shelby Varney made six saves for Leavitt, while Brianna Perry deflected 10 shots for the Bulldogs.
