Caden Carr, 17, helps carry bags of donated clothing at the Hope Haven Gospel Mission in Lewiston on Thursday. Carr and his 11 classmates from the Wayfinder School in New Gloucester brought 20 bags of clothes to the shelter. Students at the school struggle in a traditional setting for a variety of reasons, said program director Oren Stevens. The residential program serves students statewide, but about half of the student body are from the Lewiston area, Stevens said. “Some of our students have history with Hope Haven or similar shelters,” he said. “So this was a good opportunity to give back.” From left are: Gabby Aube, Becca Leavitt, Jesh Flynn, Chelsey Lavertu, Kass Warren, Jazlynn Burnell, Carr and Stevens.
