Since moving to the area, I have been impressed by the community commitment I have seen in many younger residents in Lewiston. They are making a big difference by bringing new ideas, energy, skills and enthusiasm, which gives me hope for the future. Now that I am reaching elder years, I am ready to pass the torch to them.
Ben Chin is one of those. I have been privileged to get to know him through Trinity Church. He has a remarkable ability to listen and advocate for the rights of everyone, often being a voice for those who are not always heard.
I live in Auburn so unfortunately cannot vote for him, but I do work in Lewiston and hope to move across the river in the future. I trust Ben Chin’s vision and values and would be proud to have him as the next mayor of Lewiston.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
