
A moped operated by Russell Faxon on Route 202 in Alfred on Monday was struck by a car driven by Laura Melisi. Faxon died at the scene.
ALFRED (AP) — State police say an 81-year-old man was killed when his moped was struck by a car in Alfred.
Police say Russell Faxon of Lebanon was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene on Monday. Faxon was following a large box truck on Route 202 when a car driven by 65-year-old Laura Melisi, of Acton turned left into an ice cream stand after the truck passed. She did not seeing Faxon on his moped.
Police say Melisi and a passenger were not injured.
