AUBURN (WGME) — The Maine Warden Service says a snake escaped from a crate after a worker in Auburn opened it on Thursday. They have not been able to find the snake.
Wardens say a worker at Panolam Surface Systems, formerly known as Pioneer Plastic, was opening a shipping crate that they received from China Thursday morning.
When the crate was opened, a small, green snake with yellow eyes escaped.
Wardens were called in to look for the snake, but after searching the area, they were not able to find it.
Wardens say they do not know what kind of snake it is.
Workers were told to be on the lookout and to call officials if it is spotted again.
