LEWISTON — Local singing musical theater artists, Nakesha “Kay” Warren and Mitch Thomas, will provide the entertainment at the La Rencontre on Thursday, Oct. 12, at the Gendron Franco Center, 46 Cedar St. The gathering will start at 11:25 a.m.

The home-cooked meal will include beef stew, biscuits and apple crisp. Parking is included in the price of the ticket.

After the meal, Community Little Theatre and Franco Center favorites, Kay Warren and Mitch Thomas, will present a selection of show tunes and spirituals in concert. Thomas will provide piano accompaniment.

A Detroit, Michigan, native, Warren is starring as the leading role in CLT’s production of “Sister Act.” She previously appeared in a number of productions there and at other companies in Maine and New Hampshire.

Thomas has appeared in countless CLT shows since 1985, and recently played Lumiere in Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast.” He does several concerts a year around the region, including at the center. Thomas grew up in Jay and serves as executive director of the Franco Center.

Both artists are directors, producers and board members at CLT and both are involved in leading music in their respective churches.
