NEW GLOUCESTER — First responders put out a car fire about 12:30 a.m. Monday on Tobey Road.

When firefighters arrived, the car on the dirt section of road was engulfed in flames, according to a statement from the New Gloucester Fire and Rescue Department.

Firefighters used water and foam to extinguish the fire and dry chemical extinguishers to extinguish the magnesium in the steering column of the vehicle.
