ALBANY TOWNSHIP — Robert “Bob” Ernest Moxcey, 75, died on Friday, Oct. 13, in his home in Albany Township after an extended illness.

Robert was born on Feb. 12, 1942, at home in East Waterford, the eldest child of Roy and Eleanor (Adams) Moxcey. He graduated from Paris High School in 1961 and joined the United States Navy. He married Cynthia Diane Bonney on Nov. 12, 1966, in Reno, Nev.

After completing his required years of service in the Navy he tried non-military life for a short time. Soon after, he re-enlisted in the United States Army and made that his career, completing a total of 20 years in service to his country before retiring in 1983. His marriage ended, but Robert and Cynthia remained united in the support of and pride in their children and grandchildren.

Robert will be remembered as a quick-witted, fun-loving, and competitive man. He took great joy in exploring back roads and viewing the natural beauty of Oxford County and beyond. He was an avid fisher and hunter. One of his greatest joys was his years as a private pilot.

Robert was predeceased by his mother; father; and brother, Michael Ivery.

He is survived by his daughters, Marsha Snyder and husband, Tim of Saco and Diana Moxcey and partner, Neil Bensen of Halifax, Va.; his grandchildren, Casey Sheehan and husband, Robert Carlson, Hannah Sheehan, Evan Moxcey, McKayla Moxcey and Taylor Bensen; and his siblings, Francis Moxcey, Sharon Hale, Merry Geisler and husband Jerry, Patrick Ivery and wife, Claire, Linda Hill, Carol Hart and partner, JR Goulding, and Keith Moxcey and wife, Michelle.
