BATH — Studio Theatre of Bath will host a Halloween-themed comedy improv night at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Bath Golf Club, 387 Whiskeag Road.

Studio Theatre of Bath’s fledgling improv troupe is led by veteran actor and STB board president Marc Rodriguez. Rodriguez was also a founding member of the very popular New Hampshire comedy improv troupe, “Random Acts of Senseless Theater.” Rodriguez says that as an actor he enjoys improv because “there’s nothing for you to hide behind — it forces you to be vulnerable.”

Modeled after the style of the popular TV show “Whose Line Is It Anyway?,” cast members will create scenes, songs and characters on the spot in response to audience suggestion. “The audience is an active part of creating the show,” says Rodriguez. “They should expect to laugh. A lot.”

Many fixtures of the local theater scene will lend their comedic talents to the show, including Gerald Brann, Letia Fowlie, Cathy Matero, Kendray Rodriguez, Marc Rodriguez, Andy Shatto and Vince Shatto. The troupe will be joined by guest performer Jason Barnes and musical guest Benjamin Proctor.

Because of the unpredictable nature of improv, this show is recommended for adult audiences only. Tickets are $10 at the door.
