To merge is to splurge. The merger vote is very important to the taxpayers of Lewiston and Auburn. To merge the two cities makes about as much sense as putting a toilet in an elevator.
This vote is so important to the taxpayers with whom I have spoken, they believe that those people receiving welfare benefits or general assistance should not participate in the coming election. Non-taxpayers should not decide the future of Lewiston.
If I had to bet on a war of numbers, my money would be on Robert Reed.
I hope others will join me in voting “no” on the merger issue on Nov. 7.
Bob Pelletier, Lewiston
