WEST PARIS — First Universalist Church of West Paris November Sunday worship services begin at 9 a.m. All are welcome, and refreshments follow the services.

Sacred Vulnerability: Nov. 5 led by the Rev. Fayre Stephenson. Vulnerability is both a gateway to connection and a potential danger. The congregation will consider the paradox of vulnerability as it relates to personal lives and the church community.

Well, Bless My Soul: Nov. 12 led by the Rev. Dr. Fred Jordan. The congregation will take a look at the historical derivations of the soul, see what it might mean to to them and decide whether it needs to be defined at all.

A Communion of Thanksgiving: Nov. 19 led by Stephenson. A cornbread communion will be held, the congregation will reflect on the first Thanksgiving and gratitude and consider Epicurus’s assertion that “it is not what we have, but what we enjoy that constitutes our abundance.”

Not So Ordinary After All: Nov. 26 led by guest speaker Patricia Harris. The congregation will ponder on memories. Harris is a retired teacher who quilts, creates art journals, gardens, writes and is part of several creative communities. A third generation Unitarian Universalist, Harris serves on the board of the UU Church of Brunswick, as well as the Worship and Building and Grounds Committees. She has been active in lay ministry for almost 30 years.
