The Mechanic Falls, Minot and Poland Tri-Town Optimist Club has announced its October RSU 16 Student of the Month recipient, Cadence Peters. A sixth grader at Poland Community School, Peters is described by her teacher and her principal as a cheerful student who is always smiling, positive and sincere — an encouragement to everyone she comes in contact with. She shares with others, works cooperatively in the classroom and is a great role model for her peers. From left are Peters and club President Jeff Gagnon.
