AUBURN — Bertrand O. Raymond, 86, of Auburn, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at the Hospice House in Auburn, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Auburn on May 20, 1931, a son of the late Arsene and Marie Jeanne (Boucher) Raymond Jr. He was married for 65 years to the love of his life, Florence (Labrie) Raymond, and together they had and raised five wonderful children.
Bert served his country in the U.S. Army as an infantryman and fought on the front line in the Korean War. Bert was employed at Enterprise Foundry in Lewiston as a molder most of his life. He was a lifelong member of St. Louis Church in Auburn. He was an avid hunter and a hard worker and provider. Most importantly, he was a great husband, dad and grandfather. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Florence Raymond, of Auburn; his children, Gerry and Susan (Vincent) of Auburn, Normand and Gloria (Varney) of Detroit, ME, Paul and Kathleen (Whirley) of Georgia, Diane and Ralph Aponte of Florida and Denise Quirrion of Auburn. He also leaves behind his 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Robert, Laurier, Maurice, Cecile, Richard, Claire, Therese and Maurice.
