I will be voting for Ben Chin to be the next mayor of Lewiston. I am also a member of the Western Maine Labor Council, a coalition of more than 20 unions. We work to support workers and we have endorsed Chin for mayor.
We support Chin because he has stood with working families. He has walked picket lines with Fairpoint and Ryder workers. He led efforts to raise Maine’s minimum wage and he has worked hard to protect prescription drug support for seniors.
Lewiston needs a mayor who knows that working people are the backbone of Lewiston’s economy. He recognizes that all work has dignity and will work with everyone to build a stronger economy in this community. Chin is that person.
I hope others will join me and the Western Maine Labor Council in supporting Ben Chin.
