AUBURN — Mrs. Ruth Inez Troop, 99, of Sarah Frye Home in Auburn, died Monday, Oct. 30.

She was born in Hermon on July 24, 1918, the daughter of Albert and Inez (O’Leary) Kelliher. She was educated in Bangor schools and was a graduate of Husson College. On June 24, 1946, she was married to Donald Troop.

Mrs. Troop taught for several years in Thomaston and Gardiner. She was a homemaker and owned and operated a general store with her husband for several years. She also worked in the office of United Distributors of Auburn.

She was a member of Our Lady of Ransom Church in Mechanic Falls and was a member of the Ladies Guild. She enjoyed quilting and crafts.

Mrs. Troop is survived by her daughters, Mrs. Linda Clarke, married to Clayton Clarke, of Poland and Ms. Jane M. Noble with Lennie Wing, of Oxford; and five grandchildren, Tracy Smith and Robert Kimball Jr., of Bridgton, Donald Noble of Scarborough, Melinda Noble of Waterford and Tammie Dalton of Winterport. She has 11 great-grandchildren.
