FARMINGTON — Voters at Tuesday’s special town meeting will consider buying firefighter air packs, selling a piece of land and appropriating money to cover expenses on a Front Street project.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. Nov. 14 downstairs at the Community Center on Middle Street.

Voters will consider spending $120,000 to purchase 20 air packs to replace those that do not meet national fire protection standards.

The Front Street drainage project completed in 2016 went over budget by $7,890, Town Manager Richard Davis previously said.

Both warrant articles request money from the unassigned fund balance, which had $1.81 million at the end of 2016. These expenditures would leave the fund over the $1.75 million auditors recommend, he said.

Voters will also be asked to authorize selectmen to sell land on the north end of the town’s Church Street parking lot to Pamela and David Poisson for $637.50.

The Poissons, who live on Cony Street, are abutters to the parking lot. They want to buy 828 square feet to expand their lot.

The town would retain a perpetual easement for future maintenance on an embankment and fence next to the parking lot.
