AUBURN — Richard F. Tyler Sr., 73, of Bethel, died Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Clover Health Care, Auburn.

He was born in Rumford on June 10, 1944, the son of Richard W. and Lillian (Burt) Tyler, and graduated from Stephens High School in Rumford, Class of 1963.

He was a self-employed logger (R.F. Tyler Logging) for many years. He belonged to the National Rifle Association; he was an avid hunter and enjoyed the outdoors, especially ATVing. He loved spending time with his family, fishing, camping and canoe trips.

Survivors include daughters, Shannon Thielbar of Bethel and Darcy Bishop and husband, Shawn of China; sons, Richard Tyler Jr. and wife, Laurie of Castle Rock, Colo., and Christopher Tyler of Andover; six grandchildren; and several siblings.
