AUBURN — The Auburn-Lewiston Rotary Breakfast Club recently distributed $4,478.50 in donations to the Auburn/Lewiston community. The donations included $1,000 to the United Methodist Church Family Christmas Project; $500 to the Advocates for Children Holiday Festival; $2,500 to the Boys and Girls Club Afternoon Snack Program; and $478.50 to the Rotary Polio Plus Foundation.
The Rotary Club supports local nonprofits that serve kids and seniors in the Auburn/Lewiston community.
The club recently held a “Pints for Polio” fundraising night at Gritty’s in Auburn. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will match the $478.50 raised two-to-one.
The Rotary has supported the United Methodist Church Family Christmas Project, the Advocates for Children Holiday Festival and the Boys and Girls Club Afternoon Snack Program for several years.
The club was founded in 1991 and since then has made more than $500,000 in charitable contributions.
The club meets at 7:15 a.m. every Wednesday at the Auburn United Methodist Church. Guests are always welcome.
