ALBEMARLE, N.C. — Anne Penney Pickett, 37, of Albemarle, N.C., passed away Monday, Nov. 27, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family, after a long-fought, courageous battle against breast cancer.
Anne was joyfully born to Lori Fitts and Scott Penney in Lewiston, on March 19, 1980. Originally from Mechanic Falls, Anne is an alumna of Albemarle Middle and High schools, and was a member of the graduating Class of 1998.
Anne enjoyed a successful career at First Bank’s Highway 52 location, where she served as assistant vice president and branch manager, and sat on the Albemarle/Richfield Local Advisory Board. She was a notary public and active member of the community, participating in the Albemarle Rotary Club. Her life’s greatest achievement was being a mother.
Anne will be forever remembered and loved by her husband, Corie Pickett, and beloved daughter, Anna Pickett, of the home; mother, Lori Fitts, and stepfather, Jim, of Misenheimer, N.C.; father, Scott Penney and partner, Pauline Parent of Mechanic Falls; grandparents, Gary Cotton and wife, Frances of Mechanic Falls; sister, Jessica Turner and husband, Christopher of Concord, N.C.; brother, Samuel Penney of Oxford; brother, Jimmy Fitts and wife, Christine of Misenheimer, N.C.; brother, Dan Fitts and wife, Heather of Misenheimer, N.C.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, Diana Parker Penney, Samuel Penney III, Ernest Fitts Jr.; and her great-grandparents.
